    Hello everybody,

I'm from Belgium and I was looking for a vintage walkman
because of nostalgic feelings and then I remembered this forum.

    I don't own a walkman anymore,
    but I do own a :

    Sony MD Walkman
    Portable MiniDisc Recorder
    MZ-R2

Which is still in superb shape !!

But for now I'm looking for that Aiwa P02 MKII or P07/F07
from Back To The Future or similar model.

    Greetings,
    Soxbrother

I know, the prices on some of them are insane :scratch2:
( There's an Aiwa P02 MKII on ebay for 1000 dollar)

But I would be fine with an Aiwa P07 or F07 as well.
I found an F07 on the German Ebay website for 295 €,
but there's something wrong with it ( like in most cases, there's most always something not working )
The seller says "HS-F07 not working (need a new drive belt?!), but good condition"
But what if it's not the drive belt but something else that maybe can't be fixed ?
That's alot of money for something that isn't even working...

What is your thought on that ?
Is it worth the risk ?

Above all I want a working walkman.

If it was just for display purposes, I wouldn't mind that much, but I want it to work as well.

I would not buy that walkman

If you are paying a lot of money for a specific walkman it must be in good working condition.

changing the belt is something those sellers know how to do but why not doing it????

anyway, it is just my personal opinion. Be patient and you will find the right walkman.

Would you say in your experience, that a walkman is always repairable,
for example if the problem is something else than the belt ?

For example if you buy 100 defective walkmans,
how much of them can be fully restored ?

This is a complicated question my friend.
But if you want a simple answer, my answer will be: "depends".

1- depends on the person who receives them. for example if the buyer is @Sergi or @renzgi or @Doctor Walkman or @bub or @mihokm .. then most of those walkmans will be fixed
If the buyer is me only about 20 percent will get fixed :lollegs:

2- depends on the condition of the walkman. even in experts hands still some units cannot be recovered/restored due to the lack of spare parts.
