I think Radio Shack/Tandy units have TRK prefix numbers as well

Maybe, I am not good in Radio Shack products, I can only guess that they may have used this prefix for models bought at/manufactured by Hitachi
    as a vendor (OEM).

BTW, PERDISCO brand was widely used in Japan for the JDM Hitachi models like
    TRK-8180
while outside Japan this radio was simply
    HITACHI TRK-8180.
    JDM:
    PERDISCO TRK-8180.jpg
    Outside Japan:
    Hitachi TRK-8180 and TRK-8181

My first 'Nat-Panny' - or Nash-in-the-Pan if you like - was an SG1030 music centre in 1978, the light went in the radio pointer so I sold it to Dad when I bought a Pioneer tower stereo in 1983 when I was living with my then girlfriend. Some Panasonic units today bear the National badge, I've had two Panasonic portables, the RX ED50 back in the noughties and the TR1200G I've recently bought on Ebay with a TV on it except the TV part needs a repair, everything else on it works.

Wonderful wall of boxes. Minis, however, are the salt of each collection in my opinion. I own most of your units but I couldn't do without any of my miniSanyos :)

Just got my latest addition to my portable collection, probably the largest machine I've got now - a Philips that all works!, Philips D8958 in white, that's seven machines I've got now, may make a Philips D8854 the 8th, two CD models. Philips D8958 White.JPG

Philips DD8878 CD radio cassette recorder.jpg Just bought my 8th sound machine, a Philips DD8878 CD double cassette radio on ebay for a sweet little price of £60, hope it goes as sweet as a nut!, the D8854 had a couple of problems so I gave that a miss. Got two of each make now; Sharp, Panasonic, Hitachi and Philips, that's enough for this little flat or it'll look like a Heathrow Airport departure lounge!

Asking about and then driving 1500 miles to be presented with a desired boombox, is just special from a boombox friend.
Trankillodad Gifted a Sharp GF-9000 to Cassette2go (2:18 minutes) :reelspin:
