A nice $15k upgrade for your den! And some tapestry for the "room treatment" made from my favorite Max Ernst: Seemingly priceless :
... and another $15-20k to rent that wall during the Show. Bad business strategy! And then there is a question: is this Art?
f**k, thanks my friend for asking this question - i was to shy to ask this let's open another fred - show your vinyl/cassette with nicest cover !!!
Pffffff...... a lot of baked air...... nothing to do With art.... just buy the first DSOTM With the solid blue triangle label and first stampers for 400$ and put iT in a Nice lp display on your wall ..... Maybe in 2030 the value Will be 15000$ !!!!
I wonder if they actually have the copyright holder permission to use those images. I have a better idea. Buy 36 new copies of DSOTM on vinyl at £18 each and make them into a 2m x 2m artwork. Total cost = £648 + a couple of quid for glue
I have the same exact question!!! Myguess in "art world" you can get away with such things. I have one, and it is NOT Yes or Pink Floyd! Should I go first?
I go first: Klaus Schulze: "Babel" If this is Not Art, then what is? Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Yes, a bit too childish and technical, no raw craziness of Hieronimus Bosch here... But, again, who can compete with Bosch, or Dali, or El Greco in terms of being 'under the influence' allthetime?... My artistic Boss says: Francisco Goya but I must be too pastafarian to get excited by some lame bites onto established religious ideas... From my all-time-favorite band, Dead Can Dance: here we have something to sit back and admire: Bosch in his heavenly glory! and music that I listen to at least once a week (but who am I kidding, for the last 30 years I listen to DCD or KS daily!)
Just seeing this, hell ya that's art! If you had a big enough space that would look great hanging up. I also feel like it's art when you go to a Japanese Bar and they have a $30,000 stereo system in the corner, I can stare at it for hours, as long as they have the Stones playing, PF puts me to sleep....
