Well, my 660 has decided to stop playing. I am not sure if its a transport issue or a signal issue. The tape is playing but I am getting no sound and no indication on the VU meter. The tape seems to be spinning at twice its normal speed and I cannot tell if the head up or down. Tape loads and ejects just fine but I suspect the head is remaining in the down position. I also suspect that the reason it appears to be spinning faster is because of the lack of resistance the head normally represents when engaged. This this is long overdue for maintenance and cleaning as well.

Question: Do we have any members who are working on these decks? I hope to find someone who is not charging $120 per hour for labor. I do not expect this endeavor to be cheap but at the prices I am seeing online, it can quickly become less than practical.

Ps: I am in the South East Region of the USA
