    Hi guys,

dug out my old Aiwa which had been the victim of some significant battery corrosion. I was hoping someone could tell me if they think this is repairable or not? At the moment it is dead on key.

    Thanks in advance

I'd say go for it, is it dead with batteries? I don't know if this model has a power jack. It looks like the corrosion is just on the spring, did it spread to the circuit board?

yeah it got onto the PCB a bit an has damaged some of the caps so they will probably need replacing. Also half of the wires on top aren't actually soldered on anymore. I was just seeing if someone gave the "its toast" reply but assuming it appears somewhat salvageable I'm up for the challenge. Thanks

I like watching 8-Bit Guy and My Mate Vince, they've worked on some crusty units but it's totally understandable if you don't want to work on it. Feel free to put it in the 2nd hand section, parts units will always have a home.
