Just got this monster 3 piece Aiwa MDL CA-W20 from 1984 on my front porch today and it's heavier than I ever imagined! And this is without 9 D cell batteries! Anyhow, it is in need of repair on both cassette decks which are fully computerized with some kind of random track select dubbing system for ultimate mix tape creating! It will be very interesting to try and get this up and working properly! I shall be updating this post as I go. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Love the oddball boxes - especially if it's an Aiwa! Never, ever seen this model before.
I'm definitely curious to see this one up and running.

After hours of working on it and getting ready to putting it back together, I plugged it in and heard a pop and smoke came rolling out of it, the metal sheid plate got installed wrong and shorted out the amp. The foam on the speakers were completely deteriorated anyway. I trashed this project. :(

Yeah, $115 right in the bin. Looks like I need to find some more stuff at the thrift to sell on the 'bay!
