    Awaken your CD..
Came across this player today while browsing online. Claim to be audiophile quality and the price seem reasonable. I like the wood grain finish with the dark tinted cover look very impressive to me.

It's neat; it looks like a mini turntable.

Indeed, in fact they design it in the image of their turntable!

their TT looks like something I wouldn't touch unless I would want to convince myself that LPs sound 'as good as MP3' but Amadana Discman I must get for my collection of Discmans... Audiophile Quality!?!... To put it against The King, Sony D-Z555 (not my favorite, but since it got crowned as The King, I must listen to what The King has to sayo_O) and my favorite Discmans - Denon DCP-100 and Sony D-50 MkII... By any chance, do you have any idea what those numbers from Korean website mean in US-$$$???

Thank you, my friend!!! Going to buy one and shall report on how it actually sounds :)
Hi-End... Hillllllarious!!! I hear this a lot from my son that 'digital is digital and is just PERFECT' and it will be fun to put it also against the Best Thing Ever: iPhone-10... :)

Today is a Bad day for me: restored minty Sony D-10 (the Best Discman-Ever according to my friend kaosuncd.com... and id does sound pretty good!!), and during photo-shoot I dropped it on the floor!!! Feels like $hit is snowing upon me, my only consolation is that the Dudes who did GM engines photo-shoot and crashed the most beautiful plane ever made, Valkyrie XB-70 must have felt much worse...

Hi Jorge. How on earth did you do that. Much damage? Is it still working? Still haven't plucked up the courage to open up my d-10. I know how much you are feeling now. Take care.

Look on the bright side. In both cases they made more than one (I have seen the other XB-70) and in your case no one got killed (I presume).
    XB-70.jpg
p.s The rubbish photo, with another planes wing in the way dates back to when a single roll of film had to last an entire visit to Dayton, where I was lucky enough to get to go for work back in 2001.

D-10 is still working, but no Minty no more. I could not bear it, bought myself six-pack of beer and went home to watch TV series about Queen Victoria :(

since I mentioned six-pack: when building 1/72 scale model of Valkyrie I bought all the books I could find, downloaded whatever photos available from the 'net and the most elusive photo was of the Valkyrie 'six-pack' as they called the engines. Too high to snap a photo or too far away when shot in flight.

That was the easy photo. I know you had seen this one before so didn't post it

I'm jealous you were at Dayton, Longman, that's where they debrief the aliens before putting them on ice at Area 51. It's on my list of places to visit, I'm just never in the area at the right time. There's a really small airbase by it in Indiana, Grissom with the B-58 Hustler, kind of the father of the XB-70. They had an accident at the base with a loaded nuke in the early 60's, I guess they had to bury everthing at the end of the runway.

thank you @Ken80s and @Mister X - thanks to you guys I have a brand-new Discman in my "new Discman collection":

    AmadanaDiscman_vs_SonyD90.jpg

Looks real nice, feels extremely flimsy, preliminary listening shows that it should Not be put against heavy-weight Discmans like Sony D-7/D-10/D-555. My 'entry-level-hi-end-Discman' is Sony D-90: this is what AmadanaMusic Discman is against today. Playing my fav tune: "Maiden Voyage"... As Alan Parsons once said - audiophiles do not use their stereos to listen to music, they use music to listen to their stereos... exactly what I am doing tonight o_O

this is a start of a new chapter for me: instead of Beer&Boomboxes it is Beer&Discmans... a photo shall follow once I get back from the store with a beer

Unfortunately it is, my friend!!! Even 'polished' by Irish Milk the sound (oh, Boy, how I hate talking about sound when listening to music!) is as flat and un-involving as if listening to Top-40...
    AmadanaDiscman_vs_SonyD90_2.jpg
Yes, it is me at the other end of cheap AT headphones, but now CD got switched to Sony D-90 and my life is getting better: my fav tune is now recognizable as music, not a pile of well-recorded-doodlings :)

It's so good looking, just like some of the 90's micro-systems with wood, we can only hope they refine it or the tweekers find a way to make it better.

Yes, Amadana Discman does look real Good! Tomorrow I will take her apart to see what's inside ;) Also, maybe digital-out will sound better?

Now that it is done, I am confused as to what exactly I expected to see. Or rather why did I bother? But here it is, next to dime-a-dozen no-name Discman from late 90-ies:
    IMG_3320.JPG CobyDiscman.jpg

Digital-out and Bluetooth added to Amadana, case made of cardboard with wood-grain laminate on top looks nice, hopefully it is treated well to last in a humid climate.
One thing which is guaranteed to break first is the lid: plastic hinges are as small and flimsy as you can imagine from the photo. Luckily, lid here is only to protect laser lens from dust, to change volume or to press Next, Pause, Stop you have to open it.
Once lid falls off I will pretend that it is a CD spinner by the legendary 47 Laboratory where you have to use CD as a "dust cover":
