I was watching a video and it showed a PX101 being controlled with this, but I couldn't identify it.

I'm hoping it might work with the PX303. I think I can work out "RC 6 something".

What you see on this photograph is the RC-8R remote for the Aiwa HS-J08 walkman (the red button is for the recording function indeed). The same kind of remote, namely the RC-8P (@Machaneus' photograph) was given with the P08 and G08 (and I guess T08), without the red button as those were players only. Those remotes had a single normal three-poles jack and were connected on the second headphones connector, whose function could be switched by a selector on the unit. And indeed the remotes of this 08 series still do work on a few of the 10 series, namely PX10(1) and PX20, on which the second connector is dedicated to the remote only (it's not possible anymore to connect two headphones on those units). So those two players were sold with a two-jacks headphones incorporating the remote. The JX10(1) had a special custom remote connector.

And then the PL10(1) was the first Aiwa (I guess from photographs here, as I don't own one) to use a four-poles jack to allow in-line remote on the headphones cord. This was later adopted on the (players only) PL30(3), PX30(3) and then on PL50(5), PX50(5) and later PX1000. And this system is not compatible with the former one.

For the record, the JX30(3) and JX50(5) recorders series had a two-jacks (both four-poles) connector that plugged in both the headphones and the microphone connectors at the same time, and this was yet another system, not-compatible with the previous ones, and even not from one series to the other. Finally the remote for the JX70(7) and JX929 recorders went back to an in-line (headphones) four-poles single connector independent from the microphone connector... But IIRC this is not compatible either with the remotes for the 30(3) and 50(5) players (to be confirmed).

Here's mine off a TP-38, these are non-stereo units that tend to go for low-dough. I bought it for the remote, I didn't know the jack had different poles so I made sure you could see it. The Remote is labeled AIWA RC-38

It might be worth me getting one of those controllers to see if I can re-wire it to a 4 pole jack.
