I think I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask anyway because, "measure twice cut once." These two caps are on the Panasonic RX-C45L board... same values on the side and most of them are the small variety. However, this one is notably bigger, despite being the same value. My brain is asking itself the question of why, if a manufacturer is making this, are they not using all the same physical caps of the same value? Hence I'm throwing this out there for a double check before I just replace it with another cap of the same value... just in case.
After a while I realised what you mean. I guess you are looking at the 100uF 10V parts. They used a better quality part (lower impedance or something) in a critical audio signal path. @Jorge is the expert in Audiophile capacitors. They originally intended to use a larger value part e.g. 470uF, but decided it wasn't the right value so picked a replacement in the same cap size. Are the two capacitors on the same board ? If they are on different boards the boards might have been assembled in a different factory. p.s. Who else spotted the Sanyo IC in a Panasonic Boombox ?
