Hi all Today I could not log in using Google Chrome, which has worked hundreds of times previously. It didn't come back with "wrong credentials" type of messages (except when I deliberately got things wrong); it just returned to the page I'd started from (/forums/) and showed the Log in or Sign up prompt in the usual top-right position. Eventually I tried exactly the same credentials via Microsoft Edge - which has obviously worked (thankfully). Is this just me? Nick
It is still working fine for me. I have had a similar login problem in the past but it sorted itself, maybe after a reboot).
Every once in a while it tells me the site uses cookies and can't log me in, after a few hours I can get in, not sure what the issue is.
So the cookie may be storing out-of-date information or information which conflicts with the action the user is attempting. In a long career in IT I never had to debug things at this level but I'm betting that fixing walkman belts while wearing boxing gloves would be a doddle by comparison.
I use several computers, mostly different versions of Windows, I've noticed a lot of background activity on all of them lately, especially after the Microsoft Breach. Unrelated to this forum's login but for a few days last week pop-ups were everywhere and I hadn't had an issue with them for a long time.
