Recently i visited a classic car exhibition and seazed the opportunity to get some pics with my M90 I ve been meaning to share those pics with all of you ! I hope you enjoy it. Does anybody recognise the car models?
Alfa Romeo Spider (as anyone who has seen the film "The Graduate" will know Alfa Romeo GTV Mercedes S Class ? VW Golf Cabriolet Corvette Stingray Dodge Charger (I actually saw one in full General Lee livery on Saturday with a Bride and Bridesmaid in the back) VW Combi / transporter Triumph TR6 Original Fiat 500 Autobianchi A112 Another Corvette Stingray Citroen 2CV Renault R8 Ford Mustang Convertible
Beautful cars Deech and a lovely M90. I waded through the pics naming the cars in my head as i went, i think Longman got most of them to
Yes Longman got them all right ! Still for me in some strange way i think that the M90 just fits so fine with all those classic cars in the same picture.
Excellent pictures and thanks to deech for his great idea What model is the tiny green car? (5th row from the top) It looks like a rare green DD walkman sitting next to the king (M90)
Funny thing is the only two things in the photos I have probably never seen are the Mustang convertible and the M90 ! Cars like the Alfa GTV weren't that rare back in the 1980s while someone I was working for bought themselves a brand new 2CV back in 1980. My friends dad once had a Corvette, although I never did get to go in it. I did once get taken home in his Bristol during which he demonstrated to 0 to 100MPH time which was quite exciting for a 14 year old reader of Speed and Power comic.
A brilliant post Deech! Cars and boxes are two of my favourite passions! The words "sexy" and "classic" spring to mind!!!
The answer was above but a few more details for you http://www.classicitaliancarsforsale.com/tag/autobianchi/ What we need now is a picture of an M90 next to an original Mini, a Mercedes Smart car, or my favourite a Toyota IQ. Of course if you want a really small car you have to look to none other than BMW http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/bmw/isetta Rather than an M90 that one should have a Panasonic Egg in front of it
The alfa romeo is actually an Alfetta and i would not consider it or ever mark it as a Gtv since its an insult to the junior coupe. or any 105 model that actually participated in rally(however the company in order to keep the legend alive it enlisted it as a gtv which they did for all the models that they wanted to sell ) The alfetta after serious throwbacks actually was abandoned after a single season, despite scoring a win at the Danube Rally in in the early 80s But after Fia enlisting it to the legendary group B it had no chance against the monsters."GTV6" placed 3rd in 1986 in group B Tour de Corse The R8 nothing special here since its not the alpina/Gordini or a car that participated in any rally. Its missing the two stripes however its a good example of showing to the public in what junkyards pilots had to compete and actually win.Gordini was an innovator of his time however there is a curse upon all his cars that he cast that actually kill drivers So if someone considering getting a car with the name Gordini please reconsider the spell is still on and nobody escaped yet. Another coursed combo is a renault gordini engine in a lotus F1 car (The ones that know, know also what happened)And if everybody still thinks that Senna died in a Williams developed by williams please reconsider twice! Certainly a nice combo of classic cars together with the m90 and a nice presentation but considering collectibillity/history of those cars a mediocre outcome of a car exhibition. .
Here are some cars i found or they find me in an exhibition in Las Vegas back in 2007.However without a m90 or any ghettoblaster of any kind.I wasn't even collecting back then!Have fun and Merry Christmas to all!
Woah, what a Bimmer behind the fence! The German Ferrari - 850! Used to be a dreamcar for many. And thrown away? I am wondering how much is this one now, in this condition?
This place is out in farm country Wisconsin, USA. I had a job estimate down the street and wanted to check out the little downtown and saw the junkyard down the road. He's got hundreds of newer Volvo's and a ton of 80's Jaguar XJS Convertibles plus a few random cars like the BMW and Alfa.... Maybe you can see more from Google Earth. https://www.strandbergauto.com/
At this state i give 500 to 800 bucks max if the motor is running........it looks its the E31 1991/1992 so i rather get a ready one in good condition without rust for 15000 instead. Junkyard car finds are worse than ghettoblasters believe me!
The 850's haven't really held their value here although that's been slowly changing the last five years. BMWs in general don't hold their pricing after 6-8 years, I think the secondary market worries about maintenance costs. I'm with you on the junkyard status, especially these late model higher end cars. Sometimes a nice 850 comes up on www.bringatrailer.com
