I've had this box forever and may have posted it years ago and up until I found the sales brochure on HIFIEngine.com I didn't know anything about it. While it looks kind of late 80's cheesy, it's actually a different kind of box with dual antennas (rarely seen after the 70's) and an art deco façade. I was going to clean it up and rebelt it but it seems kind of delicate and I didn't want to break any of the internal plastic after opening it up. Working on it is easy but they really used 70's build quality with wire wraps, pin connectors for the boards and some other touches on the buttons that seem a little better than usual for this time, there's a hidden slot for an AA battery but it's not hooked up and I can only assume it was for a digital tuning version. This is a very wide box, just a hair under 24" and it looks pretty stout sitting on the shelf, it was sold as an "all-in-one music center" Mine is pink, the other colors are white and black with no mention of "U" (pink). Without more information I'm not sure this didn't sun bake out to this color, I was hesitant to give it a deep cleaning because the color really makes it one of a kind and I don't want to compromise it. We had a P-40 Warhawk at our local air museum that turned pink when it was stationed out in the African Sun, here's a photo of it to show what the sun can do. The P-40 might have been repainted to match the sun bleaching effect when it was restored.
