As two people have mentioned the D8444 in the past week I thought they would like to see this (last seen on the old forum). Back from the days when Turbo was associated with cars like the Porsche 911
Nice , I'm currently restoring A D8444, sadly the 3 piece Saisho on the other page probably sounded better! But the Philips looks so much better!
Thanks for the info, I had that page saved but had no idea about the year. 99 Pounds in 1982 is $459 of today's money. I paid less than $200 for mine, but it was totally broken. Almost anything will sound better than D8444, that's for sure Anyway, here is mine under better lighting conditions than on Friday Night:
The D8444 was photogenic enough to make the front cover as well The file I am using is dated 1982/83 but I can't find any date in the catalogue. However, the computers are a big clue. The fact that the Commodore 64 (with it's enormous 64K of memory) which was launched in 1982 is "Now available in Dixons" so obviously the latest one available reinforces this date Finally, having mentioned it in his Sanyo V-Cord thread these scans are for Autoreverser
