I'd love to find a Technics Tape along with a Nakamichi but they are pretty much unobtainium. It is cool watching the value of these things go up.
I must have seen thousands of second hand cassettes at car boot sales and I've never seen a Nakamichi or Technics branded one, not even a used one. But that still seems very high for someone to justify paying, but you never know!
I'd love to know who is buying these and what they are doing with them, there must be a good reason to search out for the tape.
I bought one thinking that it looks nice when taking a photo of a boombox. It looks stupid, but I still bought one!

I'm not sure who made Nakamichis but here's an article from 1975 talking about their new formulation. I think Ted is the son of the founder. Nakamichi C-90s at $5.79 USD each, ultra expensive back then.
