A real oddball, the Panasonic RQ-J33 is thought to be Panasonic's first stereo portable, verified in some of John Edwards old threads. I have no idea but since this unit has never been posted on the world's #1 Walkman Site, I thought it was time.

If it was the first, it looks like it was cobbled together from off the shelf parts to get something to market taking advantage of the wait time for a new Walkman TPS-L2.

Some of the interesting features are the extendable handle, it's light duty plastic and not very impressive. The player also has a vinyl strap, I guess if you were roller-skating this would be a handy feature. The unit has legs on the back and side, making it look like a little boombox when standing up.

This unit could record, another great feature but it's only in mono! Other than that it is special with three way power, batteries, wall-wart and AC.

An oddball forgotten to time, too bad they didn't put in a radio it would have been a nice addition.
