I'm saddened by the news after hearing my favorite 80's singer George Michael has passed away. A song to pay tribute to the legend. R.I.P

He was a Great Artist. 2016 was a bad year for many great artists.
David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Lemmy died among others and now George Michael.
How ironic it is that he died the day of Christmas and lyrics from the Wham Period of his career
say this exact words :''Last Christmas i gave you my heart but the ver next day you gave it away..''
    R.I.P. George Michael.

I have often told the story of how the first time I ever felt old was when, having just seen Whams first appearances on Top of the Pops I discovered that George Michael was younger than me.
Until then all the pop and rock stars such as Rick Parfitt of status Quo (also sadly RIP this week) had been older than me, so it was a bit of a shock to discover that someone younger was making
    great music.

As they pointed out on Radio 2 today Rick and George both appeared at Live Aid so here are a couple of clips to remember them both

p.p.s I think I have posted before that the only time I have taken a boombox on my shoulder out on the street was when my friend Paul
who was a huge Wham fan, decided it would be really cool to walk up and down outside the Tropicana Outside Pool at Weston Super Mare
playing Wham Club Tropicana. Such a shame we didn't take a camera.
