Hi everyone, Just been playing with my WM-D6 and it's much larger than most of my other Walkmen, the only one that rivals it is my Toshiba KT-R1. These units both feel fine to me as I have big hands, but it got me thinking, what are the largest Walkman style players/recorders out there?
I don't think Sony TC-D5 and Marantz PMD are considered as walkmans (I think mini deck is a better term for them). Biggest Sony walkman: D6C/ D6 Biggest Toshiba walkman: KT-4066, KT-R1, KT-R2, KT-4038, KT S2, KT S1, ... (Toshiba made a lot of bulky walkmans) biggest Aiwa walkman CS-J1 then TP- S30 biggest Panasonic walkman: RX-1950 , RQ-J3 , RQ-J6 , RQ-J11, KT-R1 (and maybe some similar models that i don't know)
Aiwa, Panasonic and Toshiba never made Walkman only Sony made Walkman. They all made personal stereo’s
Thanks I have a D6 and a KT-R1, the D6 is 1-2mm thicker just by eyeballing it, going to have to grab some of those other players when/if I can
I remember this was discussed in the old forum by John Lydle. I think you should take a look at this: http://www.stereo2go.com/topic/worlds-largest-walkman-competition.htm
