Hello everyone, I'm proposing a challenge where we all try to make a mixtape/playlist in less then a night. The restriction is that all songs chosen for your mix must be specific to an era. (the only exception is for the 1rst song, which can be of any era and any genre, however the first song must be attractive) Try to explore an era that is outside of your comfort zone. Post a picture of your results as well as your tracklist. If you can, try to make a youtube playlist, so we can hear your results The Goal is enrich ourselves with songs and different genres which we otherwise wouldn't have known or listened to before. Here's mine. Side A: Snake Eater - Norihiko Hibino Blue Monday - New Order Maneater - Daryl Hall & John Oates Elegia (full length un-edited) - New Order Side B: The Man who Sold the world - Midge Ure Africa - Toto Take on me - Aha True - Spaudau Ballet Only Time will tell - Asia Old and Wise - Alan Parsons Project Gemini - Alan Parsons Project Good luck to you all.
Ok, but the goal is to publish the tracklist here? When you mean "out of your confort zone", you mean songs of a genre you like but not from the era you are accustomed to listen to, right?
I like what you did there, @Command8 "A Phantom Pain" would have been more fitting to the "before 86" rule than Snake Eater though, and is a good intro song to a playlist.
It was a hard choice, besides Im more MSF then Diamond dog ( haven't played the 5th/6th installment, I stopped after peace walker) so its harder to relate. Nothing beats a drill sergeant chewing you out about analogue controls. I would have wanted to go with the 70's but I am already familiar with alot of the era and not so much the 80's.
I guess my username tells which side I'm on >wo Side A (B isn't complete yet) of my playlist was decided in about a night, which is also to some extent, MGS-related: Starman -David Bowie (wonderful intro) The Man Who Sold The World - Midge Ure (Bowie's first release is on side B) Another One Bites The Dust - Queen Don't Stop Me Now - Queen Elegia - New Order Space Oddity - David Bowie (79 version for consistency reasons) Money - Pink Floyd (1974 live) Beat It - Michael Jackson Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
