    Hello to everyone!
I am a new member - actually is "my first day and post here!
I am from Greece and those days after a big research to fix the clicking noise of my excellent red color DDII, i decide to sign on this great forum.
I am waiting also to receive on Monday, an almost new WM-D6C with original accessories...

Congratulations for your persistence and willingness to find a final solution on faulty gear! :hi

    This is TRUE!
I didn't believe that i bought it in this immaculate condition.
Specially when i examine it, it's truly a brand new item - I guess it was never used before!

Really a great product with excellent build quality, extremely good feeling on metal case and a reference sound.
I didn't try the recording function yet, but for me it's not a priority, due to other cassette recorders that i have and as a main recording machine that i use - the ZX7.

Thank you very much for this kind welcoming!
When i was younger (this doesn't means i don't feel like "a child" nowadays :yesss:) those beauties was my "descent objects"!
Now it's time to grab them!

After a comparison, the red one (WM-DDII) sounds better to my ears. (It's also more impressive to my eyes!)
On medium volume levels, "Megabass" circuit of WM-DD30 distorts a lot of sound quality on level "mid", adding unusual more bass on "high" level, loosing also too much information on lower octaves without it.
At lower volume levels "mid" position is OK(?) - with question mark - I feel like adding an equalizer only on low frequencies.
I truly believe that WM-DDII is a great deal in terms of sound quality, regarding product level category limitations.

This weekend I am on the way to hear them with better headphones and I will come back with more detailed impressions!

I tell you one thing, but only my opinion, stay away from the MegaBass on any Sony Walkman they are all just Sh!t. If you was talking about Aiwa DSL that would be a different matter. All Sony MegaBass did to anything was to destroy the sound, from my opinion who ever thought it this was good must have been deaf sorry I take that back as it’s an insult to deaf people. Even deaf people would know better.:wink2

Sony's Mega Bass aside its heavy title can do nothing more than it does a loudness switch in an amplifier and it is meant to be used in very low volumes to give some boost in low frequencies ,its a cheap circuitry consisting of very few components, I never use it on my amplifier and rarely in a walkman .
Aiwa's DSL (Dynamic Super Loudness) is a totally different concept more sophisticated it works so well that every time I use my Aiwa Hs Px-101 with a new cassette recording I'm thinking " let's see how DSL will improve the sound" , it is unfair for both systems any comparison but if you do ,truth be told ,you have to hate Mega Bass.
