Just won this pristine condition DD3 for £60 plus postage, from Poland

    Ad translates to:

Buy Sony Walkman wm-dd3. Visual status in the photos, in my opinion good. Technically the tape recorder plays, the switches work, but the motor does not keep spinning and the tape recorder falsifies. Includes original case.

So it plays but then stops. hopefully just broken DD gear or something loose inside

Hopefully I can fix it. I would choose to use this over my D3. So I may sell my D3 for a very sensible and fair price on here soon

Finally got chance to strip this down. Electronics seem fine. Broken gear causing unstable speed so sounded rubbish and not usable.
I already love the DD3 and can't wait to use it.

So I later found the real reason for extreme wow and flutter.
Pinch roller not rotating free enough. I remove, clean everything and re-fit now perfect. I suspect tiny bit of damp got into that area.
