So... twice a year I have to sit through at least one day of a fashion show Actually, watching girls and boys in funny dresses is not too bad, the unbearable part there is our local DJ! Over 100dB of monotonous drone makes me physically sick . If there is an opposite to "music" it is not Schoenberg or 4'33", it is the soundtrack to LA Fashion Week . Strangely, none of the designers ever complaining
Welcome Maya! Fashion and portable cassette players go back to the beginning. You can see a ton of photos if you search it out, I guess they like to have loud music playing during the shows and boomboxes were perfect for it and Walkmans were nice for break time. Even today the big design houses have boombox bags and other hommages to the cassette culture. Cool info about your wife Jorge, I've got an art minor if that counts?
@Mister X: It Counts!!! You guys and she makes me a better person (or so I think!). Still a lot of arguments in my household about Darwin vs God’s Big Plan and whether Earth is a planet or just FLAT... Being an incurable Naim-Head/Flat-Earth-er I am torn... but sometimes I do try to argue with her that Earth is just a ball of s$&@ in The Universe: she is not even listening!...
