Panasonic RQ-SX35 Battery RP-BP62

Panasonic RQ-SX35, reproduction Battery RP-BP62, any ideas to reproduce this battery with an AAA battery. 3D model etc.

 

That type of battery is called a gumstick battery, and you can still buy new ones today. If you want to use AAA batteries, there are also original battery adaptors. Finding a donor unit with the adaptor will be easier, I think, than trying to reproduce it.

 

For now, air purchases are limited, also I cannot buy batteries internationally.

 

Ah... 3D printing could do it, then I guess. The wiring's very simple, though there is usually a capacitor in it.

 

I am seeing that the thickness would not allow me to place an AAA, or an AAAA.

 

I don't quite remember the Panasonic's adaptor size, but I think it is just very slightly thicker than the Walkman itself.

 

I mean the manufacture of an internal alternative battery. There is not going to enter an AAA or an AAAA.

 

Yeah, I meant battery adapter. The walkman will certainly not fit a usual battery inside. If you like making things, though, you can make your own battery case to attach outside the walkman since the terminals to connect an original battery adapter is there and there's a screw hole as well. There's usually a capacitor in the original one, but I think you can make do without it.

About the remanufacture of the internal battery itself, I haven't read anyone doing that, since the batteries are still relatively available.

Have no idea, but with 5 x 1.2V gumsticks inside 'gondola' must be sealed. I contacted seller thru eBay asking to join S2G.

 

Looks like excellent craftmanship! The walkman 'gondolas' are comparatively simpler though, as you only need ~1.2-1.5V

Here's a Samsung 'gondola' I repaired recently which is equally as thin as the Panasonic's. No capacitors in this one:

Oh yeah... That's specific to each brand. This one is different from the Panasonics. If I remember correctly, the Panasonic has 2 small contacts near the corner. I'll take pics when I got my hands on one.
