I forgot to say that you can simply upload them to the forum and the system will downsize them properly to the maximum allowed size. However, it's best to downsize yourself so you save in upload time, especially with many images.
It has taken me ages and a lot of hassles just to get them up to Google Images due to my very poor connection but I'll try that next time. Thanks.
You can always download the latest (though old) version of picasa and ignore all that: http://www.oldapps.com/picasa.php
