a bit of cheating (painted Red and Transparent Red for the panel) but it was my favorite boombox in my favorite color:
I see James is collecting again. You downsized to a few boxes but I can see from this new image that you are back to the business
It was Sencor S-4800, fully recapped with "Fine Gold" Nichicons, mechanism rebuilt and then an extra mechanism purchased for "just in case" event. Did not help it much, he-he Yet another Red Beauty: she opens up into quite a tool: the most challenging part of restoration: getting to the badly aged rubber tyre without which pickup reel misbehaves pretty badly: Luckily, SBT2.3 from TurntableNeedles.com is a perfect fit! The most FUN part of the project: scavenging an extra ChordMachine for parts: Not too often one has such a privilege of dismembering a "donor" unit One final confession, as with Sencor which was not actually RED, this Sony is not actually mine, it is the second (or the third if you count the "donor") machine from @Boodokhan collection.
That Sony deserves a thread, there's so little information on them. Nice to see you back Jorge, it's below zero here and I'm going to spray down the ice rink, can't do a B&B since they turn to slush pretty quick.
