So I got one of these a few years back and put many hours into putting it back together. Despite already having one I couldn't resist a local pickup as they come up so infrequently. It was a brief listing with just one pic from a new seller but it was only a few miles away so I had nothing to lose.

The seller got it 3 years back from a mate who did house clearances and he'd used it in his workshop ever since. He said it was grubby when he got and he'd never cleaned it. Got to test it and it was all working, deck was muffled but head looked good. Better still it wasn't missing anything....these often seem to lose sliders especially the small ones at the bottom.

Yep it was grubby as hell but looked good underneath so I bought it. He chucked in a Sony Walkman too as a freebie which was nice.

Here it is in all it's grubbiness...

I even bleached the rear case...this was taken outside before I reassembled...not perfect but a lot better. If we actually had some sunshine it would've had more effect I reckon

Nice :) these are great looking boxes, it's very satisfying when you put in a lot of work and the end result is better than you expected :D

Yeh you're never quite sure how good the end result will be when they initially look as filthy as this. Turned out well though. 100% working too and sounds good :D

Very nice Si, These are beautiful looking boxes and that filthy beast looks great again now. As i said, no one does a detail clean like you.
