Recently I have been playing with Turntables and have a Technics SL-5 I am trying to repair. As it doesn't have a phono preamp built in I have been using one that came with Steinberg "Clean" ripping software powered by a USB power pack running it into the Aux in on a boombox Before working that out I was thinking What was the smallest boombox made with an RIAA input ? do any minis have that feature ? My Sharp GF-555 has a switch to do either RIAA or normal but it is my largest box, and I am working on a small kitchen table.
While it's not the smallest, it's the coolest, the Marantz 53 Micro Boombox. It does cross the line and technically it's a compo system but it's tiny. I feel like I might have some QT's with it but they're not close to me so I can't check right now, I did look at a small pile of mini's but no luck.
Thanks for replying. The Sharp QT90 definitely has a switchable Phono / Line Input. However I was wondering if there was something even smaller. I now have the Technics SL-5 deck working, and am pleased with it.
