    Hi All
Maybe its an age thing (edging towards the big 4.0) but I'm quickly warming up to all things Cassette. As a kid in the 80s I remember some of these things new (as well as rewinding the tape on a pencil to save battery power) , yet through rose tinted glasses the machines somehow look far cooler now!

I'm hoping I can draw on your expertise to start to understand which machines are worth ignoring when they come up for sale, and which to drool over! I'm also keen to know which are the rarest and why?
    Anyway.......Greetings from the UK!

Cheers Northerner- yeah well the mid-life Harley or Ferarri are not going to happen any time soon so thought I'd start with something smaller first! lol

Yep they're the expensive version of the mid life thing lol. I've just come into some money, I'm 48, so the thing to do would be 2 seater sports car I reckon. Not done this. Bought an ambulance instead...I wonder for my sanity sometimes lol :)

I'd go with the ambulance too- more useful when my wife knocks my block off after I'd show her! Anyway.....as a person who knows their boom boxes- what is the best example I should aim for?

Well it's the divorce that netted me a big lump of cash lol! Anyway, if I were just going to have one boombox I'd have a JVC RC-M70 just because it sounds awesome, is a practical size, looks cool, and can use a shoulder strap. Needless to say I have two of them lol

Cool and thanks- I'm liking that JVC RC-M70! Do the unusual colour variations I spotted from google (such as red) ever come up?

Nah, I mean that red one you've spotted is the custom painted by our hobby mates.

    This one, for example.

A history question- what was officially the very first boombox?

oooh I like the M71 more! That gold against silver is very classy! How much do these sell for when they appear (just so I can fatten the piggy bank in anticipation:lollegs:)?
