Hello ! I recently got a Sony D-VM1 (Japanese model), and everything works perfectly except for the sound. The audio coming from the headphone jack (both on the player itself and the remote/screen) is extremely loud and distorted. The volume buttons respond (you can see the volume icon change when pressed), and the AVLS switch is detected, but none of these controls affect the actual volume, which stays maxed out. I couldn’t find any setting in the menu to fix this. I even tried the test mode by pressing buttons combination that I found in the service manual but couldn't launch the mode). I noticed some rust and mold inside the unit and the remote so I cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol + add some KF F2 Contact Cleaner spray, but it didn’t make any difference. Could it be that the player is stuck in AV Out mode (Line Out), even though no AV adapter is connected? (I don’t have the adapter VMC-DW1 to test). Or could it be related to the region of my CDs and DVDs as I believe Japan is another Region than EU ? (but it's strange because it manages to read them) Any ideas or similar experiences? Thanks!
