Well, a new one is on the way (yeah, I know, I've got boomboxeritis), anyway... it was a decent deal, not a second hand store kind of deal, but occasionally it's better to have a bird in your hands than two flying above you... and that too has its cost. I'm not prepared to post it in its entirety yet, but I feel like teasing the lot. Pardon me for wanting us to have some fun! Would anyone like to guess from this little picture, what's coming home? :glance:
Ah, man, that's unbearable, my ignorance isN'T a bliss - some further hints would be much appreciated! 2-3 more buttons maybe eh? No, back plate, yes, definetely would do better!!
Ahh! Come on boys... I worked hard at this one! So far none of you are right... that's not bad for a second hint, right? There is one slight trace of a 4th button on this picture that should help most of you zero in on this box. I'll make it more fun, winner gets a brand new chrome tape from me. You get to choose... from the selection below! Alright, let's keep the fun going! Keep them guesses comin'! Disclaimer: The tape is Free and I'll even help with 1/2 for the shipping (almost anywhere!). All tapes are factory sealed including the SoundBreeze. Hey guys, this is us just having some simple fun. It can get boring up here in Canada with -20 degrees Celsius taking pictures of JVC TV Boomboxes! You're a real trooper Geoff!
Is this the guy? Pio SK-909? A random pic from the net.. Or, less possible, but still maybe a JDM SK-900? Nearly the same stereo actually, just JDM, with FM up to 90MHz only. Or, even much less possible, Pioneer SK-800? Those buttons are the same in those 3 models.
Come on Raheem! You can do better than that! 3 clues already!! Contest ends this Sunday, January 15th at 15:00 PST! First one to get it right gets the tape! Second place now also gets a tape but pays for shipping!!
Alright! Alright! You've got it already! Now, do you see how I could not possibly have given any other clues in the slightest? Alright Gentlemen, contest is over. Congratulations Mr. Mystic and Mr. Raheem! Choose your tapes and send me your addresses! It was good fun for me! The SK-900 should be getting here tomorrow... I'll post some pics as soon as I can. Needless to say, if there is one radio that I distinctly remember seeing on display in the Audio Stores when it came out and I could not dare dream in the slightest buying it... well this was the one! My connection to this boombox was the fact that I saw it with my own eyes on sale at Kromer Radio on Bathurst, and the couple of brochures on it that I was able to get. Unfortunately those have long disappeared as well. Well, I guess I'll believe it when I see it... tomorrow! Thanks Guys for playing along!
Don't need a tape tony lad but that kenwood on the other hand lol hey congrats on you're pioneer man im sure you will love her, Is the deck working my man?
Thanks Raheem! The tape is not working! I'll accept any advice and/or a copy of the schematics if anyone has them! As for the "tape", not a problem, it was just simple fun for us, but I would gladly follow through on it with no hesitation. As for the Kenwood, careful what you wish for. I just got the SK-900 and I'm in need of real estate to accommodate it! It's either the Kenwood or the Panasonic RX-C100, but with that revised list off of Kijiji that I just posted yesterday, there is one RX-C100 for $100 CAD, which is about 2 British Pounds... I will never sell my RX for that kind of money. So the Kenwood is up! Make me an offer I can't refuse, yes the onus is on you now! Have fun!
Cool!! Great machine - sort of a good tape deck in a box appearance, I used to have SK-900, sold it last year. BTW, my hobby pal provided me with a clue about your pic with buttons. So I asked him whether he'd like to choose Cr tape.
Hey Mystic! Thanks! The SK-900 is 99% mint... could not ask for any better!! Nice late Christmas gift!! No problem... let your friend choose the tape! Let me guess what he's going to choose! It's going to be the SoundBreeze... but don't tell him. Let him choose it first! Have you looked into the handle for your JVC... PC-3, right? It looks like it has to be the exact same as the PC-55... Let me know, I can send everything all at once! Cheers!
