A legend in the boombox world, the Telefunken Studio 1 is supposedly the best sounding boombox of all time. I've never seen one for sale in the US and this one is set on 220v so I don't know if it's easily changed. Unfortunately it's a little out of my price range. Old member HIFI Tom used to seek out "Hi-Fi" boomboxes and there's some archived threads on the nice ones but the consensus was this was the best.

LOL, $699? Dude's on crack. Those things fetch only $200-300 on Ebay Germany. They're more common than M70's over there.

And all of them can be converted to 110V, by simply moving the fuse to the correct terminal. You can see on the label they endorse this.

Beautiful home stereo! Bbox? Only for the Dudes like Arnie, not for the weaklings like myself... Panasonic RX-A2 should be able to compete, but here we have sweeter WAF, not just a PA beast!!
My bedroom stereo of Linn Classik+Linn Kans should be in this same league o_O

Yeah, the RX-A2 is much louder than the Telefunken, but it doesn't sound as good IMO. Don't get me wrong, it sounds better than the vast majority of boomboxes, but the Telefunken is just a step above.

I don't check out Ebay Germany very often, I thought these things were getting into silly money range over there. A few of those Cheybogan Brewery Beers and I might have been a late night owner of this but I'll hold out for now.
