After some interest in another thread, I did a little research and found some information on That's Cassette Tape and I thought I'd share it. It's difficult to find much information due to the name but here's what I've come up with. That's Cassette Tapes were made by Taiyo Yuden in Japan, they're still in business and sometimes use "That's" for newer products like recordable CD/DVD discs. https://www.yuden.co.jp/eu/
Taiyo Yuden also introduced the first recordable CD in 1989, I'm sure the music industry was going crazy at this point.
I knew (don't ask me how, don't remember) that Taiyo Yuden was behind That's, and also behind recordable CD-R. They gained respect in the industry for their high quality products.

Those are cool Reli, in the 80's I always loved Maxell but I'd use the other standbys in a pinch, TDK or sometimes Sony. That's had that funky name so I never tried them. Now a days I've never found one in the wild, very rare around here and I've bought a ton of old tapes over the years.
Compared to the $19 TDK I posted in the other thread it's a bargain. I was happy with my Maxell UDXL IIs at four dollars a piece, it was a lot of money for me but those tapes were bulletproof (and I couldn'd afford many albums).
Hi Mr X. That's very interesting.( Pardon the pun). I don't rememberseeingany That's tape over here. Was it just for the Japanese and American market?
I actually bought quite a few That's tapes in the 1980s, probably from Lasky's. Apart from the price this looks very familiar, especially the unique case design https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THATS-VX...463937?hash=item2173aa56c1:g:74EAAOSwSiFfNipv For some reason I thought they were part of Harman Kardon. Maybe they were the UK distributor.
Longman thanks for that. I don't think I ever looked in Laskeys. Interesting to know they were available.
