The Sound Partner Headphones! I don't know much about the Porta Pros but they sure look identical. Sound Partner is a horrible name, good thing they changed it. I've got a few of the full size Pro 4AAs around here, for a long time it seemed every garage sale had a pair for a dollar. The music box looks interesting, a high end portable tuner, it would be nice if we got some feedback from anyone that owns or owned one. I think I had another listing around here and these were pretty expensive new.

+AM/FM pocket stereo receiver with SafeLite- LED that lights when SPL reaches or exceeds 95 dB.
+2 -stage J-FET RF amplifier; low -voltage integrated circuits
+FM Quadratune detector; phase -locked -loop integrated circuit; power light indicator
+tuning indicator; external power jack; FM stereo light
    +tone selector
    +sensitivity selector
    +Koss Sound Partner headphones

Koss put some thought into this, legend has it that Koss had a portable stereo cassette player on the drawing board in 1976 but shelved it because of percieved Japanese Competition. This unit came out when they decided they were wrong not to be in this market. As for high-end, I'd compare it to the very popular transistor radios of the time, some were just a few dollars while this retailed for $90.00 USD. This also came with the Koss Headphones which evolved into the very popular Porta-pro Headphones.

But now quite a few try to fetch a bit more than 1$ for this "vintage" on epay, etc... :)

I have two koss music boxes. There are three versions of these radios, including three AA batteries and four AAA batteries. There are also some differences on the dial. The early version will be marked with a frequency of 105. In terms of experience, the sound is not bad. Two lm386 IC are used as power amplifier, but the shell is too rough and easy to crack, and the components on the internal circuit board are also messy.
