i have a few of those, so one must go. it‘s a high quality app.1979/1980 set (the last real UHER) and is working fine besides the deck needs belts (yawling). rare and heavy set, built like a tank and extremely professional, deck can be used as a reporter-unit, if proper serviced easily as good as a Sony tcd-5. i have listed it on local ebay in germany for € 333,- to negotiate, if it gets sold here i‘ll donate 10% to s2go ask for more
Holy amplifiers! So what is the story with that block, I'm guessing you stuff that behind your rack and fool everyone with your 125 watt micro machine? That's a beautiful system, did they make a turntable or speakers for it?
the „block“ is off course the power-amp for the set, plus serves as powersupply - there just for pre-amp and tuner. the tapedeck got it‘s own powersupply, wich is a block that you throw into the battery-department, as the deck can be used portable. in fact in europe they were used more often than the marantz, sony, nak and whatsoever derivates. in my eyes they are at least same quality level, even better as they are much more easy servicable. if you‘re interested i open one up and post you pics, very professional stuff ( i own at least 6 or 7 of those, even different models). there was a UHER wich was the 1st. ever portable cassette-deck featuring autoreverse (cr124, pics off mine to follow). back to the block: there was also versions with a smaller block wich was only a powersupply, when you used f.ex. active speakers or a different power-amp. i use a tower like that with p/s only in my office with some vintage Restek active speaker... ...gotta run now, c
Thanks for the information, Uher's are hard to find over here, I snagged a UHER CR-160 after seeing your posts, it's a very substanial unit, slighty heavier than it's Marantz Counterpart. I'd love to get one of these micro-systems one of these days but voltage might be an issue.
the voltage - you‘re right. i think it‘s designed for 220v only. i wonder if i can replace the switched p/s for a normal transformer - would make it probably even better (?)
