I had to get this one In 1985 when I was unemployed & really poor, I managed to blag one of these from a friend who was more skint than I was Think I paid him around £60 at the time, the stereo was pretty much new so a bargain I thought!! Introducing the amazing Bush 7090 Portable Power Compo Now even in 1985, I knew that these were not the last word in portable audio, but to a skint pauper, this was great & after all I needed music just the same as I do now & better than having nothing............... Mine led a hard life back in 1985 - Living in a house converted to bedsits, everyone would 'borrow' it if I wasn't home, many times I would have to retrieve it on my return This is in ok condition, I have seen these before but in a real state so this one was worth a punt!! These stereo's are seriously let down by the extremely poor quality woofers, unbranded & stock of the cheapest type, they are the main cost cutting stage, the main unit is very well made which meant 3 hours was all it took to rebelt & service plus a deep clean it I will be looking in my spares for some branded 5 inch woofers sometime soon - until then, here she is all finished!! Am well happy to have one again - nothing special of course but great memories
Nice story, Nick, I smiled quite a lot while reading - keep up! At first I even thought that this Bush was namely yours, that one from 85. Where it's now?
I sold it & to help buy a Panasonic SG 2080 music centre Late 70's but still king of music centre's in 1985 with quality everything especially the amplifier section!! Kept it till 1987 when I bought my first Technics separate system
