Sony WM-F606 (white?) noise - audio clip - pl advise

    Hi there - I'm working on a Sony WM-F606 and have reached the limit of my expertise

    I've done the mechanical work and all functions seem to operate

    But I struggle with the electrical stuff > Can the experts spare me a minute to listen to the attached audio (with a tape in) and advise. The audio is one channel just because of the way I recorded it. You can hear the effect of switching the Dolby and the tape select during the clip..

    1. Check grounding to the main PCB. Clean FWD/REV switch.
    2. This model (170 derivative) is known to have capacitor problems. Try recapping.
