I'm currently hunting for a portable cassette player my mother had during the 80s. This mystery machine supposedly had an all metal body with silver/chromed mechanical buttons (rather than soft-touch). Also it apparently had Auto Music Search or Blank Skip. Unfortunately she cannot remember if it was a Sony or some other brand. I really don't know where to start looking so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Please show your mother some pictures from google to figure out the model of this mystery walkman (random pictures like this page):

Ask your mother whether or not the mystery walkman came with a cassette tuner or radio option.

By showing the pictures she might have better idea to provide more details.
Hopefully we can find the model

From your photo albums do you have any picture that you could take a picture of and upload it to here no matter how poor the picture is there are lots of people that like a challenge of figuring out just what you had but we all need some kind of beginning other than just a few basic detail that could be found on hundreds if not thousands of models. So take a picture of what ever you can find and upload it to here full screen ok? We'll be waiting
