I bought a non working sony Wm-ex511 walkman of the internet. The belt was terribly molten, so I replaced it for a brand new one. It now plays tapes flawlessly(in both directions), but when I try to Rewind or F.F it sounds like 2 grinding gears and stops afterwards. Thanks for the reply . So, if I understand correctly, my belt is not tight enough to drive the mechanism when fastfowarding. The seller must have ripped me off. I've read elsewhere that talc powder can make belts turn with more torque, is that right?
