By my calculations every deep scratch costs 300 euro!

In all fairness sometimes you can find amazing deals! like this:
    Vintage Walkman AIWA HS-PX101
Only thing that sucks is that these gold deals always show up at the worse of times.... I'm already broke for the month. :hissyfit:

Well, but that one isn't a PX101. A G21 for that price is even a bit expensive... a very basic model.

It was a px101, the deal expired.

I have similar case in the other second hand webs. Same product, one with a bigger price and the other with more accesible cheapest price. Who doesn't search well con this webs, will fall in this traps.

The only price that counts in an Ebay Auction is the Sold for price.
From selling them I know that most Britains model soldier sets are available "Buy it Now" but they are typically two to three times the price that the same sets sell for in auctions.

Even auction prices can sometimes be a bit erroneous when two potential buyers get into a mad bidding war.
I have occasionally seen items sell for significantly more than you can get the same item for "Buy it Now" if you look around the site
I very rarely sell items using "Buy it now" and try to price my items at a price where I won't be disappointed if they go for the start price.

A final tip for any sellers. If you start an auction and someone offers you a Buy it Now price your item is almost certainly worth more than that.

Ironically, but not surprisingly, the model that was my first CD-player ($69.00 American!;)) has dropped in value... And included everything you see here, plus earbuds!o_O:

same here, how can I sell such a beauty?!?! Never cared about 10-40sec anti-skip: once digital gets compressed into the buffer the sound gets from average to below that... Now we have DAPs/smartPhones for this kind of sound
BTW, scratchy volume is an easy fix, just a few screws and it is all yours:
    CBM777.jpg
a drop of Deox IT into volume pot and scratchiness will be Gone! I even upgraded headphone coupling caps for 220uF Nichicon Fine Gold, but such "snake oil" works only (if at all) for the better quality Discmans

ModelMaster enamels and "0" or "00" size paintbrush. Two of my hobbies combined ;)

I also have a real nice result with epoxy (but NOT 5-min epoxy!) and dry pigments, its by the end of my restoration here:

Worth is in the eye of the BeBidder.

Huge price differences right there...could the bidding be attributed to a 'must win no matter what' personality complex?
