    Hi There!
I am recently grabbed by vintage audio. After a Minidisc player and a Nakamichi tape deck, now I am on a decent walkman. I hope you guys will be able to help me in this.
    Regards,
    Balazs

Welcome to the wonderful world of vintage audio, some say it's the best sounding equipment and music ever made. The good news is they made millions of players and recorders and a lot of them survived, although packed away, and with a little luck you'll start finding and messing around until you find something you really like.

Thank you. I am already on a wm-ex615. It’s not vintage but it seems it has a decent sound and build.

That looks like a great unit, those cool 90's units were never popular over here since the mass-marketed junk took over in the early 90's and I've never seen one. My "newest" player might be late 80's but I'd love to find one of the newer Sony's just to try it out.

I like most vintage audio and have minidisc, CD, tape, vinyl, etc. Check out Techmoan on Youtube, his interests are very similar to mine. Hopefully you'll enjoy the hobby and all the options it opens up to listen to music, post your equipment, we love checking it out.

I found a near mint 615 on the ebay from Germany. It was not cheap (130 EUR ~ 150 USD) and it's missing some of the accessories, but I wouldn't wanted start my walkman exeprience with a worn and needs to repair device. This looks new and after cleaning and demagnetizing I really hope it'll be flawless. I have some technical skills so I am not affraid of the maintenance required for these devices until they have no serious mechanical or electronical problems. Techmoan is the guy who is responsible for my new born enthusiasm of the vintage (obsolete) audio and why I will throw my money out of the window... I hate him... :)

    welcome aboard Balazs Orsi
I have 3 EX615 and all of them are in good working condition. I never had any problem with this model so hopefully your walkman can serve you for years.
As "Mister X" mentioned check the AIWA's deal that still is going on and it is a really good deal.

Thank you. That AIWA looks really cool. I am a big fan of 80's Japanese industrial design. This is why I really like my Nakamichi as well. It looks like something created by engineers and not by marketing department. A Nakamichi is sooo "Back to the future" right?
That AIWA should be preserved for the future it's not something for daily use, I would not unwrap it from the original packaging.
I finally bought this item: Sony WM-EX615
It was 130 EUR with postage (as I finally arranged with the seller).
There are more complete sets for double of the price so I believe it was a good deal. The point is that the walkman itself seems very intact. I already ordered gumstick batteries for my MiniDisc player and luckily it is also compatible with this walkman... So it is my bonus :)
