I noticed the Tps-l2, aka the first walkman, the first time watching the trailer. It was the way I figured out that the game was going to be set in the early 80s (Wich explained the 80s synth music). Idk if many of you are gamers, but it was a neet little item I spotted in the trailer that I'd show off to the forum. I really like the attention of detail looking at the comparison.
I haven't played Wolfenstein but I'm familiar with the plot, I would imagine that in that alternate timeline, there wouldn't be many Japanese people left, so I wonder who would have made it?
Actually I disagree with that. Wolfenstein Youngblood is based in the timeline introduced in Wolfenstein the New Order, where Germany beat the US in the race to build the Atom bomb. I believe since the Reich and Japan were allied, Japan could still have made the walkman. Since this is a Nazi based timeline, I picture the Tps-l2 being called Die Laufenmann.
Reading into the lore, the Nazis basically turned Japan into a puppet state, there for Japan could still invent Die Laufenmann.
I'm not sure that Germany would continue to tolerate Japan after winning the war. In Man In The High Castle (spoiler alert), the Nazis were ready to wipe them out.
