I’ve rarely ever seen silver available as a colour option most are always in black for the two head Naks. I definitely think silver compliments my 70s Marantz gear. The model is a Nakamichi BX-1 from 1982 and production ended in 1984. It’s always nice to add an extra piece to my collection, especially as it was only £95.
With the exception of my 70's Tri-Racer I don't think I've ever seen a component style silver Nakimichi, maybe KJ Bleus will chime in on this model.
Its a 1982 Nakamichi BX-1. I knew they did silver as an option, but never seen one for sale. That’s why I snapped it up
The full silver Nakamichi decks were the BX1 / BX2. Also the BX100, BX125 and BX150 were in silver colour available. I say full silver because the 480 and 480Z, the 600/600II; the 700ZXE an 700ZXL, and the LX3/LX5 were only silver in colour on the front, but have a black case. The 700/700II series are silver with a wooden case if I'm not mistaken.
StatAud's explanation is "spot-on", no need to word embellish ..... Congrats on your good fortune grabbing the Nak BX-1 . Nice Marantz gear you've got stacked too !!! Happy Holidays Bleusy
