Hi, I'm 41 years old and I'm collecting old audio machines. Cassette recorders and receivers of all kinds, and especially I like the RVHP machines. My collection contains Japanese tape recorders available in the Tuzex or Genex sales network before 1989. Check out my reeltoree.cz site, you have to use the translator. :)

Welcome, and thanks for putting a picture with your first post. I am guessing that is an Eastern Block made Radio Cassette.

p.s I just looked at your website and it is very interesting with loads of equipment we never saw in the west. I like the Tangenciální gramofony.

I have one of the Selena shortwave radios which were sold over here and were quite common.

Hello, this is Vesna 212-1 (Весна М-212-1) cassette tape recorder, made in 1987 on Ukraine in the former USSR. Weight 6 kg without batteries :D

Welcome to the site, anyone who shows me something I have never seen in their first post is a winner to me, I love that little radio! Never seen one before.

Selena is the export designation of Soviet Okean models. Selena B211 is Okean 209, Selena B216 is Okean 214. All types were not for export, like this beautiful Okean 205 :)

Yes, this receiver was very popular even in the whole Eastern block where it was supplied under the name of Selena B216 with the OIRT 66-73 Mhz standard and the German Democratic Republic with a frequency of 88-100 MHz. The rest of the world is classically CCIR as Selena B215-217. I love these radios, they have a quality tuner especially for KV and excellent sound on FM. I have them all in the collection. Please apologize for any errors in the English language :)

Is that an actual wood case? Boy... and I thought a leather back-cover on a portable was something unusual!

That Tesla is a good Eastern imitation of the Philips D8614

Both have the same designer. However, the Czechoslovak Condor is much better in all parameters. Bass and treble speakers are used from large speaker boxes, Philips has only a high piezo speaker. The Condor has a metallic and functional mechanism even after thirty years, Philips has a plastic drive with broken wheels. As I say, Tesla Condor is 100 times better, especially in sound :)
