Thanks Longman, I've been stuck on metal milling machine restoration videos and haven't checked out Techmoan in awhile. That component is so cool, I've never seen one before and never really thought about it but that would look super-cool in a stack of equipment. The wheels are turning, it would be fun to get a small Watchman, or similar, and modify it so it will fit in a stack, maybe a little AWIA 22 System.
Some neat pins for the collector that already has everything. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Home-Ele...=item5b487b42f2:g:VpQAAOSwadda-ExT:rk:32:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pins-Aiwa-...=item3f7ed7f3f9:g:s9kAAOSwd0BVwMK1:rk:29:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/AIWA-MEGA-...=item2ac2852b62:g:qUIAAOSwLjxabBbT:rk:28:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-19...=item41f8a51d27:g:t-YAAOSwzbxacJFJ:rk:27:pf:0
In the 90's if you had Davidoff Cool Water Cologne on you were already a step up in the club, imagine having this portable tape player on the beach, pure magic. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Davidoff-C...a:g:v90AAOxyHE5Rrh-1:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true
1st generation Sun Set Portable Cassette Player $33 USD and free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ve...PPy:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true&autorefresh=true
I love the look of this thing, too bad the sonics are usually horrible on these portable turntables but it meets boombox qualifications with a radio and batteries. Pricing is high but it's pretty rare, the National Panasonic SG-100 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Natio...=item56beb8eb7a:g:Wb8AAOSwTbNb6bwk:rk:14:pf:0
Another cool Walkman Pin https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pins-pin-W...h=item5469604b03:g:PvkAAOSwf95bftTW:rk:8:pf:0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-PINS-...=item2611ab758e:g:ypoAAOSw88xaO884:rk:19:pf:0
This actually looks pretty cool, I'm thinking one of the new boombox themed restaurants would go for it and I've never seen a Pepsi Boombox Model PC-842 before https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-PC-842-Pepsi-Boom-Box-AM-FM-Double-Cassette-Recorder-Radio-w-Box/
The first time I have seen a portable TV with a flip up CRT https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EARLY-19...049295?hash=item4b5dd8fecf:g:QPUAAOSw57ZcZ8dw
That's cool, it must have been really neat back when it came out, so 2001 looking. I've been watching the micro-tv sales and they're picking up, just missed a sweet JVC and I'm kicking myself. Now that I can actually use them, they're cool to own but other people are starting to jump on the bandwagon. I'm not complaining, I'd rather see them worth something than thrown out.
This must be right around 1977, very early portable cassette player for the hardcore collector, The Radio Shack CTP-5 Cassette Player. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-Bl...567988?hash=item2f2bef54b4:g:3NsAAOSwZjpcahHK
How often is it that you mention a rare boombox in a 1983 catalogue and then find a brand new example for sale on Ebay ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Benkson-...=item4b55eed135:g:mvwAAOSwG-xb90GJ:rk:23:pf:0
I still haven't found one of those yet speedy2.0, I have to believe it's similar to it's bigger brother with metal trim and buttons and maybe even some of it's front face. Surprisingly it's really going up in bid price, they tend to go for much less over here although the units look well used and this looks pretty nice.
A Boombox keyboard I hadn't seen before. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...822255?hash=item2f2b3c1aef:g:8ocAAOSwRfxcB6SW
I was browsing through Sanyos on Ebay and found the ideal Radio Cassette for 007. No worries about where to keep your Van Halen tapes with this one although I suspect the tape storage is in place of the turntable models higher in the range had. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sanyo-Ra...400234?hash=item28790a26aa:g:1zwAAOSwSI5bYHdy Also, not a stereo but one of the looking coolest looking radios I hadn't seen before https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Atomic-Space-Age-Sanyo-RM1600-Transistor-Radio-Sphere-Ball-AM/173785793176?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20131017132637&meid=91140847f9cf447a94023973d53db64d&pid=100033&rk=2&rkt=8&sd=173785793176&itm=173785793176&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042 I have always liked the look of the Pansonic Panapet range and similar 70s funky radios like this. You don't get more 1970s than that "Burnt Orange" colour. However, they have been outside the price range I could justify since Ebay started and are mainly AM only so I wouldn't use them.
I love those clocks Longman, I put in Space Age Sony and found a ton of cool old Sony's, lot of knobs and dials and funky shapes. I found this model at a garage sale years ago and have treasured it since. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-SO...OCK-RADIO-SPACE-AGE-SOLID-STATE-/264197460973
Here's one for the collector, it's advertised as a Craig Portable Tape Deck and 8-track Player, it looks like there might be an 8-track slot on the side but the photos stink. This would be pretty neat to own for a few dollars but they want some good change for it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Craig-Mode...851567?hash=item3b2c923bef:g:GAAAAOSwzFhcPQ86
I like the Sony Clock. I guess the Sanyo is actually a Clock Radio. The Cassette Recorder above might say Craig but is actually a Sanyo 2000G http://www.richardsradios.co.uk/sanyocassette.html If you can accept the Sanyo name and a white eject button here is one for £10buy it now. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-...096432?hash=item521923d2f0:g:ZFMAAOSwE~ZcVFrE I think the seller is getting 8 track muddled up with cassettes. The square transport controls and front mounted eject are very distinctive, especially since my Mother bought the Sanyo 2400G radio cassette which uses the same deck new back in 1973.
Another odd combination, made in Mexico no less. Portable record, radio and yes, there is a cassette slot also. The Music Time by Ertl is pretty cool, Ertl is known for toys but this one is crazy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Va...224044?hash=item1ccc73c76c:g:QiYAAOSwGN9cgBhx
