I've had this thing for a long time now but now it's time to get this bad boy refurbished she works and I just need to go through her and fix a few things.

Looking at the size of the cassette door for scale this thing is a monster!

Nice  do you have the speaker pods that sit on top, these house the midrange and tweeters? This is very similar to the Aiwa CS9.

Yes I do have the tweeters . They are pretty much blown though but I have upgraded replacements for them I'm going to build a cabinet for the mids and tweeters that sits on top of the unit and make it look like another component that just sits on the top. This thing is ridiculously heavy.

A rare and interesting machine, :nodding:
Yep, I've seen a pic of that Mars with small top speakers.

The entire cabinet is wood and the components are solid and heavy weight. The whole thing weighs over 40 pounds.

Here in Brazil back in the days, we could find the same equipment, but by a different brand.
    The Aiko System 3000.
Little and LOUD... ...same as the FH Sony Series.

    Cheers.

The Mars JH 100 has been on my wish list ever since I joined the (old) site. Not exactly a boombox but a powerhouse with unique look and personality. One day, maybe... :)

The tweeters on this thing are nothing to laugh at I mean these are seriously high quality speakers the only problem is the tweeter diaphragms warped over time causing a distortion due to changes in the voice coil alignment that's why I have to replace them.

Look the Mars Electronics Layout, so look the Aiko...
Just Aiko is Silver and Mars is Black, but same equipment.

Is this Aiko one piece or 3 pieces? I mean is the main unit is stackable or for example can the tuner and amp section be placed side by side?

    It's a 5 pieces system.
Not a Boombox (unable to use with batteries or an 12v DC input) but "portable" to carry, consider his size...

    Cheers.
