Hi there, I'm glad to be here... I'm a cassette lover and I'm the proud owner of a Nakamichi 682ZX, a Sony WM-D6C and a Sony WM-DD9. Actually, my DD9 has the auto-reverse issue : only playing in reverse-play mode and no sound in forward-play. Even weirder, if I I turn the side of the cassette manually, it plays backward. That could be useful if you're looking for hidden messages of classic songs when played backwards, but I'd really like to fix that. Maybe somebody here could help ?... Cheers, Aleks
Hello to you @Del-Uks and welcome to forum DD9 walkman has 2 belts. I didn't understand the problem of your walkman well. Does it rewind and forward fine? If mechanism doesn't move in one direction then the problem is the belt issue.
Thanks Boodokhan ! My DD9 rewinds and forwards just fine. In fact, according to the former owner, the belts are supposed to be new. The problem is in the "play mode" : in "normal direction" I get no sound at all while in "reverse direction" the DD9 plays the tape as it should... if I push the "play/dir" button it plays music backwards. Auto-reverse doesn't work either.
