Sony's 1970 Cassette Ad, they were pretty cool back then when all of the competition looked the same.

Sony FM Walkman Radio 1981, even these were expensive back then but if you could find the $00 version you were in luck!

Wow, they priced a Sanyo M7900 more than a M9990? Very odd.

These are real street prices, most of this was heavily discounted off of the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP).

You often get oddities in retail when they run promotions, like a 500g box of cornflakes for less than a 300g box in the same supermarket.

Seeing the Highland advert with the Sony CFS45 in it reinforces what people used to say about the Dollar £.
I know exactly what I paid for mine and it was pretty close
    CFS45L Receipt0001.jpg

The reason that Sony marketed the same shortwave receiver with two different numbers (ICF2001D in Europe, ICF2010 in the USA) was to make it easier to spot when grey imports (stuff bought retail in the USA then resold in Europe).

Do the American adverts include any additional sales taxes. UK adverts always show the tax inclusive amount, so that is what you will pay (unless you can negotiate a discount)

I can't believe you have the reciept! Yes we have taxes added on, usually 4%-6% depending on the state.
