These are cool, TDK Test Tapes, anybody have any of these? I was lucky to get the TEAC Set last year.

 

There's a reason there's so much TDK Advertising, they dominated the markets. From 1988

I'm definately not an expert on the tapes and calibration but that's got to be one of the only ads for the test tape set and it's probably a full set. Going by a bad memory I think they're set to a standard so all tape decks that subscribe to the standard can meet it. There was some controversy about which standard Nakamichi was following in the early 80's but I don't the details, maybe Bluesy mores.

Here in my quarantine I'm trying to find some of the more interesting ads that might not be posted elsewhere; it's interesting to see what the main marketing point was. TDK is everywhere with Maxell and Memorex close behind, the others tend to show up in the Tape Deck or Cassette Review issues.

 

Fuji Cassette Tapes from 1977, Fuji was big into photography film and you can tell they really put a lot of color in this ad, it's beautiful.

This is on Ebay right now if anybody collects these. Not only are the Maxell MX Metal Microcassettes extremely rare but this might be one of a handful of brochures left. For those that don't know, metal tapes were usually specified with stereo microcassettes for the best fidelity.
