Hi, @Rick Cohen Thank you for your interest in my rebuild. You need at least a donor PB-S5/A and two Ni-MH 2/3 F6-style batteries. When I rebuilt the battery for my Aiwa HS-JX705 walkman, I started with: two Ni-MH 2/3 F6-style batteries: here's a current eBay link. an original PB-S5/A battery to reuse its shell and connectors - priceless After that, you need to build a new charger or modify an existing one. That is not too complicated. As a rule of thumb, charging current should be around 10% of the rated battery current: for a 500mA battery we should design a 50mA charger. I found that the smaller gumstick batteries are hard to obtain nowadays (July 2021). After a bit of (re)searching I ordered a non-branded Siemens Gigaset (cordless phone) replacement battery from Amazon. Link: https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B005NINQDC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As soon as I received the package I removed the first protective layer of plastic and low and behold, 2 of the right gumstick batteries. Also note I taped the lead that was soldered to one of the batteries in place to make better contact with soda can (-) lead. Happy to have my old Aiwa HS-EX2000 up and running again without external battery case or adapter. See the tiny green LED, it is lit! Still the fingerprint magnet, hence the piece of cloth. For around 6 euros, I’m a happy camper

But meanwhile there are new built replacement batteries avilable. For PB-S5 and PB-3/4. I thought of buying and making my own Diy battery but shipping to Poalnd is expensive (thise batteries are small so 14 euro is too much).
