This is where I'm up to...fully stripped and cleaned, RH speaker sorted, most of the paint dealt with, one tape drive working, handle fixed, dents in mesh flattened and painted...

That is looking much better. It was the heavy marks on the RH speaker grill that concerned me.

Thanks, still a long way to go but it's quite presentable now, going to nose about for some sort of line in/ out to usb or bluetooth connection

Looks great! I've got the one Longman posted, it's been on my workbench for months, I have power at the transformer but it's cutting out somewhere.

Yay, a 3D8 getting some love.

That 80s price on the 3D7 was quite high - as they were when newly available. I paid less than £120 for mine in '87...

That was in a club catalogue. Compared to Argos, you never find any bargains in them as all the emphasis is on the "low weekly repayments".

I recently discovered https://www.vintagecatalogues.com/home-page which shows how popular tclub catalogues were before the days of the internet and Amazon. So far I have only bought scans on Ebay though (I suspect from the same company).

Was anyone's Mum an agent for one ?

That's in much better condition than mine, my one has a crack in the plastic where the handle is, but it works perfectly without me even taking it apart! 20151207_191144.jpg

Why are my eyes drawn away from the Hitachi to Fred Flour Grader ? :hmmmMaybe because at one time my Mother had the full set.

I don't think any kitchen is complete without one of those!
