So my lovely daughter went off to university in September to study civil engineering (she loves building and fixing stuff as much as her dad). When I first took her and her stuff there she took the little Hitachi TRK8020 she's used in her room for years. This box became the music source for the halls floor for freshers week and was much admired. Consequently she asked for a bigger louder one! So with the Hitachi residing in another flat on her floor I took her an Aiwa 660 a few weeks back. This one too ended up moving from flat to flat wherever the party was. So this week she asked if I had an even louder one she could also have! So this week I dropped a JVC DP200 which should blow their socks off. This will be used tonight as the whole floor are having a Christmas party and this is the sound system. But she even wants one more!...she wants one of my favourite Sharp GF9191's to keep in her room just for herself. Some might worry about their boomboxes in the hands of random teenagers but I love that the boxes are being used for what they're designed for...playing it loud at raucous student parties! Love it. If they get trashed so be it...they'll have died do what they live for lol :flabbergasted:
Si thats bloody awesome, I really admire the fact that you would rather have them blasting and being used as intended than being shelf queens. What good are they locked away and heard by no one?
Better to burn... than to fade away! All my boxes sit pretty on their shelves but they all gotta play, Queen for example, "Rock It (Prime Jive)"... loud!... when no one else is home! Way to go Si!
